Two-Factor Authentication

2FA — An additional login verification step beyond a password, required on higher-risk Meta business accounts.

Two-Factor Authentication requires a second proof of identity — a code from an authenticator app or SMS — in addition to a password before granting account access. Meta increasingly requires or strongly recommends 2FA on Business Manager admin accounts, particularly ones managing high ad spend, since account takeovers are a leading cause of unauthorized spend and disabled accounts.

Agencies enforce 2FA account-wide as a baseline security control, since a single compromised login on an admin-level user can expose every ad account, payment method, and pixel connected to that Business Manager.
