Account Restriction

A limitation Meta places on an ad account's ability to spend, publish, or edit ads, usually due to a policy or payment issue.

Account restrictions range in severity from a temporary spend cap, to a requirement that all new ads go through manual review before publishing, up to a full disable that stops all delivery. Restrictions are typically triggered by repeated policy violations, unusual account behavior flagged as risky, or unresolved billing issues.

Agencies with well-organized Business Manager hierarchies and clean account histories see far fewer restrictions than accounts running borderline creative in sensitive verticals; when a restriction does occur, the appeal process and having backup agency ad accounts ready are what keep a client's campaign running with minimal downtime.
