VAT Invoicing

Value Added Tax invoicing — The application of value-added tax to ad spend invoices for advertisers billed in VAT-applicable jurisdictions.

VAT invoicing applies when an advertiser's registered business address is in a country that levies value-added tax on digital advertising services, meaning Meta (or the agency, for its own management fee) must add the applicable VAT rate to invoices and provide documentation suitable for the client's tax reporting and reclaim process.

Agencies billing multinational clients keep VAT registration and invoicing details current for each entity, since an improperly formatted invoice can block a client's finance team from reclaiming VAT paid on ad spend, turning a routine billing item into an unnecessary cost.
